Ridley had 2 points tonight. Was worried about this matchup going into this game. Fred makes it difficult for true 5's to play against him.

Outside of Turner, Texas' bigs are EXTREMELY unathetic, having issues with quickness and the ability to run in transition. Aside from Taylor (and Turner), who's about as quick as they come, Texas might be the 2nd most unathletic team in the conference (behind Tech and maaayyybbbeee TCU). Their guards are extremely poor moving around the perimeter and often look outmatched.

A lot of people are surprised with their performances, but when you watch Texas play they slow against most of the Big 12 competition. If you can control Taylor and his penetration and not let their size control the glass (which we did a great job of in the 2nd half), Texas is a rather pedestrian team.

hitting 46% FG and 57% Trey makes it hard to get out rebounded. 63% FT though needs improvement
Agreed but both home and away, ISU has made the best front court in the big 12 seem mismatched and made them play a 3 guard lineup.

Extremely non-athletic? You should watch more college basketball. They are not gazelles, but they aren't that bad. The bigger issue is skill.

Holmes, Taylor, Turner, and Yancy are athletic. Ridley is not athletic in the quick twitch sense, but he can cause physical mismatches if you let him. UT's issue is they are in a conference that plays small-ball. Assuming they can shoot near average, they will be a tougher out in March than their record suggests.

The real question is if they will make March Madness. The are 17-10 and have games against WV and KU on the road and Baylor and KSU at home left on there schedule. Im not sure if their record gets them in. Although, if the committee looks at the teams they lost to, the only team they have lost to outside of the top 25 is Stanford.

Here's hoping they go in and steal one against KU and win at home then.

Wednesday's loss to OU was a big blow. Plus it would have been nice to see OU have one more loss.
