NFL: Ochocinco to sue the NFL?

Once again, the NFL proves it is truly the No Fun League. Some of Ochocinco's antics go over the top, but I love some of the stuff he does. :biglaugh:

Clinton Portis was fined for wearing different socks.

Deoin Sanders used to get fined all the time for uniform violations. He would alter the sleeves of his jersey for some reason and would get in trouble for it a lot.

i dont remember who i was listening to ... i think it was cowherd, but he was talking about how there are 2 nfl officials per game (one with each team)who are in charge of over seeing uniform modifications during warm-ups ... rediculous

It is a rule, they are given the equipment for free. They have to spend their own money to do the changes. They are doing it on purpose and don't care about the fine.

$5,000 to most of them is pocket change. I don't remember who it was but someone said "I don't care, it's going to charity."

Why don't they fine Belichick.

"I cut the sleeves off because it looks awesome!"

I think because he isn't in a union. I think sometimes that people forget that stuff. They can try and get things changed thru bargaining, but until then quit changing out the issued socks, helmet straps, etc. If my boss was paying me 8 million a year, and I was also getting free work attire, I wouldn't complain if my hard hat was blue vs. white.
I also know that this is a publicity stunt.

Excellent point. It's fine if Bill Belichick wants to look like a hobo, but the league balks when Mike Nolan wants to wear a suit on the sideline. Makes no sense at all.

The NFL needs to keep the reins pulled tight. Call it the no fun league but the fact is this is a violent sport and rules need to be in place and followed. This is a uniform issue but thats the rules. I thing the fine should be a game day check. These guys are making millions and all you have to do wear a white chin strap  If you would rather work at Firestone fill out an Ap. the last thing we need is for the NFL to be like the NBA National Bullies Assn

That's a little excessive.

Wait, what?

Talk about punishment exceeding the crime.

And I forgot the color of his chinstrap makes the game more or less violent.
