Obesity Tax Next

Point being that the more decision making power that we give the government over our personal lives, the more what you do will be subject to the judgement of others. Every tiny, seemingly innocuous thing that is brought forward by our "leaders" should be scrutinized and resisted if need be. Once we give away our rights, they do not come back.

What about the people that are too skinny? I for one know that I am underweight to the point where I put myself at health risk. Shouldn't I have to be taxed extra with the overweight too?
The news always forgets about us slims :realmad:

Ha ha......I was surprised to find that my life insurance rate was higher because I was slightly under the preferred weight for my height. I eat four zingers, a banana and carnation instant breakfast every morning. What's a guy gotta do to gain a pound?

Must be rough. I look at an Oreo and I can't see my ***** for three months.

This got buried in the smoking thread. Soon, any and all vices...defined by someone else...will be taxed.
Governor Paterson proposes 'Obesity Tax,' a tax on non-diet sodas

I personally love this one. A scale should be placed outside of Golden Corral, and people should be taxed on a floating scale compared to their BMI.

I see too, in the article, that he is increasing welfare payments by 30 per cent. Probably to help cover the increased cost of the "liquid sugar" the recipients of the increase are sure to indulge in.
Man, oh man.

A government that can provide everything for you, can certainly take everything from you.

I find the poll on the right hand side of the page to be somewhat amusing.

All of these "vice taxes" lead me to one question.

When are we going to enact a tax on arrogant, judgemental, freedom-hating control freaks? The people who believe they should be able to tell others what to do (or tax them into submission) simply because they don't approve of their lifestyle should be taxed for all of the "Smug" they are polluting our atmosphere with.

It appears to me that there are more of them, and they cause more problems, than chubby people or smokers (or chubby smokers).
