Why do authors of these pre-season predictions always leave teams out?

I know ESPN left ISU out a few months ago in a preview they did. You'd think if these analysis were as in depth as they claim, they'd at least contain all of the teams.

I think they should be pretty dang happy getting to 7 or 8 wins. V. Tech, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, KU all look like pretty high chance of being losses. But Nebraska did dominate those teams in the 90's so what do I know.
