No Jack Trice Story

With the last 20-30min they usually don't do any other segments besides check ins and the picks.

So it's safe to say they won't mention Jack Trice at all. Biggest miss they could've had when coming to Iowa State. I just don't understand why they wouldn't
 
They just mentioned it a bit.

I actually think they did something for that another time a few years ago but not sure.

I would have liked that more than the CyHawk history for sure though.

5 second mention..... HUGE fail on ESPN. They should get some heat for this IMO. How do you not do at least a little segment on this, but you do a 10 minute one on pile ups?

Some heat? You realize that although they’re on location, it’s not the Iowa State-Iowa pregame show?

Are you going to make it to kickoff?

There will never be another Gameday visit to Ames ever again though. Iowa State might lose a game or two or four this year and the program is going to be ruined because ISU beat UNI!

It was cloudy and almost rained and it's raining at Penn State too!

Nope. No season tickets this year for the first time in long time. Couldn't make it to enough games this year for it to be worthwhile.

ESPN really botched the Jack Trice thing though. Randy P got WAY more time than Jack Trice.... that's shameful and should be called out IMO, but that's just me I guess?

You're not the only one...it's just like a lot of other things in that you can't do anything about it...maybe direct your concern to the network? There's ways.

Instead we get the 35 year old story on 'ole runner up raisin face.
 
I'm pretty disappointed, but its ok, like others have said it really deserves a more in depth story anyway. I just think they could have maybe spoken about it a bit, more than a 10 second intro. At least given a little background to the history and story.

I am just happy they came I do think Trice deserves a movie or a documentary or something.

I would tell them not to reach out to the company. Nothing says thank you for coming to Ames like complaints about what they covered. Does this guy complain about free meals too? Man alive.

Overall they did a nice job, lots of "sucking up" to the ISU crowd (as they know how to do at each place they go), so that was appreciated. Trice had brief mention coming back from a break but yes, seems like they should just have two-minute Trice stock segment that they can use every ESPN/ABC Iowa State broadcast and for things like this.

Main thing I would've added (or ISU should make to give to ESPN/Fox) was a drone shot of the whole scene from Reiman to Hilton across the paved/grass lots to show the scale of it all.

Otherwise, thanks for coming ESPN! (And tell Eric Church to not be stoned next time!)
 
I never expected Randy Petersen to get camera-time, but not Jack Trice. Count me in as one who was looking forward to Trice's story going national.
 
Loved Seneca, CMC was good (shocked he didn't mention DM), Randy brings up the State Fair. Can't make it up.
