MLB: No Hitter for Big Z!!!!

Goes from 1 start to leaving with discomfort in his arm...to missing his mri...to a no-hitter.

Been quite the rollercoaster ride for this man the last couple weeks

SI.com headline:

"Carlos Zambrano has thrown the Cubs' first since 1972"

They're so excited they can't type right :biglaugh:

The Cubs needed this pitching performance really bad! It also sucks for Houston having to come up to Miller Park where it is pretty much a home game for the Cubbies. This series is going to make or break the Astros post season chances and they can't be liking playing up north in Wrigley North

Cubs Win ! Zambrano throws No-Hitter !

Wouldn't you know, I have Carlos on my fantasy team, and have him on the bench, and then he goes out and throws a no hitter. I think I am about ready to give fantasy sports up.

:wideeyed:

Way to go "Z"!!!
I was 5 years old when Milt Pappas last threw that no-no for the Cubbies.
I even remember in August of '83 when Chuck Rainey took a no hitter in to the 9th for the Cubs. Figured it was going to happen some time. (the smiley is screaming "Go Z!!!")

Well, Cecil Cooper doesn't think it was fair. Since the Cubs determined it should be played in Milwaukee, and brought all their fans.

I'll admit that it sucks for Houston that the game had to be played so close to Chicago. But, it's not the Cubs' fault there was a natural disaster in Houston. It's not the Cubs' fault that there's not a stadium closer to Houston that was available to play in. Time to get over it, Cecil, and show Carlos the respect he's due...

Why not St. Louis or Kansas City?
