Paul has a real problem when it comes to recruiting for 2016. Realistically, the only young men that should commit are the guys that want to play for Iowa State regardless who is doing the coaching. Reading Cyclonefanatic alone would tell a recruit that no one knows what to expect in 2016. To commit to ISU now they must be "All In" come hell or high water.
And people on here being completly burn it all down in regards to Rhoads don't think they are being harmful. They are creating a self fulfilling prophecy. And then are the first to scream fire about the problem. I am fine with replacing a coach when he fails but not tieing his hands while we ask him to right the ship.Paul has a real problem when it comes to recruiting for 2016. This is why I think we haven't hit rock bottom in football yet. Our recruiting has only been getting worse year to year in the past few recruiting classes. The D2 (or lower) level players that he has brought it will start funnel in to the starting line up and the result will end up being worse than we currently have been experiencing (I know that's hard to believe). The longer CPR is allowed to keep going and recruiting the players for this program, the longer the rebuild will take for the coach that takes over after CPR is fired.I think this is a much bigger problem than some on here think it is.
If we all know that Rhoads is possibly a lame duck coach this year, unless he pulls off a small miracle and wins 6 games, then all the recruits know it too. And who wants to commit to a coach that might not be there in a year? Nobody.
This could potentially be a pretty awful class folks. I know we're after a lot of JUCO's, and I don't think we have much of a choice at this point. Going to be tough to convince a high school kid to come here for the long haul with the future of Rhoads in so much question.

Wow heard that tonight on the Champ.
How is that possible?
We will still be Iowa though!
Paul probably wishes he had a 20 year contract at this point.I agree with you about what is posted on here about Rhoads, however, I don't think it would matter if even we were all positive about Paul on here..... other head coaches are going to use our record over the years to tell recruits that Paul is on the hot seat. It doesn't take a genius to figure out Paul's in hot water. Any other P5 head coach with Rhoads' record over the last 3 years would have been fired after last year. Everyone knows he has to produce this year or else.
Texas Tech has 17

No, we're Iowa State.
This isn't a good thing either. 17 commits in June and they're only ranked in the Mid 20's by the ranking services, they're filling up their class with marginal talent (very few of their commits have P5 offers).
You don't want to be filled in June with marginal talent but Kliff is having to stockpile defensive bodies
As for you all: You'll get some Iowa boys to join up soon i'm sure who'll be "All In" regardless of coaching change. However CPR not filling up this class may be a good thing, you don't want a new coach pulling offers in December/January if it comes to it, much better for a new coach to put whatever stamp he can on a program as soon as possible.A new coach might be able to bring some recruits over from where he previously came from and those players obvisously would fit into his ideal scheme already. You'll finish in the same range regardless 60-75 but the scheme fit might prove more beneficial
