Different group than the one funding the football NIL but the Lady Raiders get the same payout, $25K annually. Smart to pay the same amount as football. I'm surprised the Lady Raiders NIL was announced before the mens basketball NIL, which I assume will happen. Anyway, the Lady Raiders were the first Tech team to win a NCAA team championship so there is a soft spot for them among many alumni.

Dang that is really solid. I'm pretty sure we won't be keeping up with you in that department.

I don't know what to make of this new pay-for-play nonsense except I know I don't like it. I loved the Southwest Conference. All Texas teams plus Arkansas. Every weekend when Tech played a SWC team, we all had friends who went to all of the the SWC schools so it was a do-or-die fight to see who had to endure an entire year's worth of bragging rights! It was brutal but so much fun. Plus, we could road trip to every game. Sorry for this trip down memory lane but I hate what we college football fans have lost.

In what world is the NIL of the TT women's basketball player at the end of the bench worth 25k? When people were advocating for this, they were picturing players monetizing a social media account, doing a commercial for a local business, or selling an autographed ball on ebay. Nobody was arguing for what is essentially an across the board salary for the entire team.

The way you feel about the SWC is how a lot of us felt about the Big 8. This new conference is going to be pretty big but I think it could have a lot of entertaining games especially in MBB. But I think FB will be pretty good also.

Meh everyone is just fine with the FB teams doing it, share the $$$. If they have a collection of sponsors who are willing to pony up have at it.

I'm not really a fan of this arrangement for football either. The players should be out there earning it, not getting a free check from donors.

Nor am I but there are pages upon pages in the main NIL thread about how this is the best thing ever for college sports. So let the chips fall I'm still going to be a ISU fan in whatever conference we are in.
