Anyone here excited for the NHL season? I'm a big NFL, NBA, and NCAA Football and Hoops fan, but I love my NHL too!

Who all do you think looks good and which games this season are you looking forward to? Also, who do you think will make the playoffs?

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Wild will play. They lost Rolston, and Gaborik could be on the way out. I'd expect them to be on the outside looking in going into the playoffs, which is a bit dissapointing since they won the division last year. I'm hoping they can exceed expectations.

I was getting back into the NHL a few years back, but then they went on strike, and now I just could care less. I even had the hockey package on DTV, and never missed an Avs game.

I lived in Colorado 5 years after I graduated and became a huge Avs fan. I never even cared about hockey before that. Unfortunately, unless I shell out 170 bucks for the the Center Ice package, I only get to see one or two Avs games during the regular season on Vs. I'm still looking forward to the season though.

I am totally pumped for the NHL. This year is supposedly one of the best to watch with the talent level and greater parity between the teams. When was the last time that the Blackhawks have been considered contenders?

This will be my first year since turning my interest to the north to follow the Wild. I have been a lifelong Blues fan, they hare flushed all of the players I loved with the exception of Barret Jackman. I think the Wild kind of stinks, but they have a great thing going on up there. It is a great time, they care about the fans and have a top notch facility.

I may get to an NHL game or two this year, but I bought tickets to the Iowa Chops this season instead of forking out $250 for two tickets to see the Blues I got a 14-game pack to head south to see Eric Boguniecki and Bobby Ryan play in Des Moines for goodness sake! Go Chops!

I'm a big Leafs fan and I'm actually really excited for the season. This is the first year I can remember where the Leafs have zero expectations to live up to, so it should be fun to watch them play a lot of young players and watch them play hard. Another high draft pick would be no problem in my books.

I think San Jose finally takes the next step this year, knocking off Pittsburgh to take the Cup.

I'm also curiously paying attention to the car wreck that is Tampa Bay. Best offense and worst defense in the league with an unproven goaltender. Get it on.

I'm a Blues and Wild fan - would like to actually see a Wild game but understand tix are very hard to come by. I assume the Wings are the heavy favorites again.
Am also very interested in how Barry Melrose does as a head coach this season. It's been a while since he was in the league.

The Red Wings were the first NHL team I ever watched when I moved to the Detroit area in 1973. Now, 35 years later, I still can't watch any other team. This is "Hockey Town" after all.

It helps to know that Tomas Holmstrom's son is in my grandaughter's class and Tomas comes to pick up his child just like any other parent -- if he is in town. Also, my seniors golf league got held up once so the course could put a four-some in front of us. Holmstrom and Lidstrom couldn't have been more apologetic as I don't think they knew that they were being inserted into an already full list of tee times. They didn't hold us up and we found lots of new Nike balls throughout the course.

Huge fan of the game, but not the biggest fan of professional sports. Finally got HD, so I am excited to just watch games this season regardless of the level (via NHL network).

Now that the Blackhawks have young talent and ownership has changed, I think this year will be the best in a while.
