New WR COMMIT

This guy is big and fast. He's been timed at 10.7 in the 100 meters. That gives us two WRs in this class with sprinter's speed.
That 10.73 was wind aided at 4.4 mph (which is more than twice allowable), and he didn’t’t break 11.0 otherwise.

Fortunately, he has his senior track season to work on that.

Fans don't appreciate Noah Pauley enough.
Has brought in some dogs. Guys were looking good this year.
I mean shoot.... He fixed Jaylin Noel....
I don't know if they keep a stat on this, but it seemed to me this year our receivers dropped the fewest passes I can recall. I mean, Rocco throws a nice ball, but our receivers really caught the catchable balls. It truly seemed to stand out this year. At least, I thought so.

I've thought about this an embarrassing amount in the last day.

So an allowable amount of wind is ~ 2mph? How many Iowa days have wind less than that? It can't be many. Also, if the wind isn't directly at the back, do they have to do sin/cos calculations to determine the wind that is aiding the runner?

It’s much easier to catch passes when your QB has some touch. Dekkers threw everything 90 mph

I looked it up because I was curious and a tailwind of 2 m/s is considered wind aided, which is 4.5 mph.

That’s a typo it’s actually meters/second. And the 2.0 mark is for d1 and 2 requirement for qualification and record keeping. They use wind gauges and the wind would have to be blowing directly in line consistently with the home straightaway. Rarely does it blow directly in line.

Here’s a wind measurement FAQ.

I think you forgot the first three games of the season. ISU dropped a ton of balls and on critical downs. I was beginning to have nightmares about dropped balls...

Ahhh! That sounds right. Obviously some coaching intervened to get that fixed, because it was noticeably much better as the season progressed.
