Putting new floors in kitchen/dining/entry/half bath on main floor. Need about 475 sq ft. Looking at CoreTec per a buddies recommendation due to ease of install (his advice) but that stuffs not cheap. Might spend the money but haven’t tackled this before. Got some samples and a kind that I like for 3.98 per sq ft for Coretec pro plus (I think it’s called that). Any advice welcome.

CoreTec is definitely one of the ones that have less problems in that type of flooring (plus a lot of brands are having issues with the Chinese slave labor checks at the port).
What type of problems are the other ones having?

There is wildly varying content in the SPC/WPC formula, and some of them are curling from moisture conditions in the home. Also, some have drop and lock ends, which make them way easier to install, but with the thinner products, the tongue and groove is so small that it doesn't hold (so the flooring comes apart not too long down the road).

Insure you have LPV which the top layer is 10-12 mm thick (not 6-8)Industrial grade for west and tear. Also look for waterproofing coverage.

I'd say 20 mm, simply because the products that are 12 mm and below are typically the most cheaply made overall. Stuff does stand up to wear and tear though. The waterproof is oversold. We discuss it as spill proof, because a water event (prolonged leak, flooding, etc) will still cause you serious issues.

installed it in a house i sold. HA

they seemed to like it.
Understand. The problem I have with something like that versus the Coretec product is rolling the dice on rando issues. I didn’t used to be this way but anymore I’m a spend more and do it once kind of guy. Before I would have been like ‘Aw **** it’ and found a deal some place. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Coretec but damn it ain’t cheap.

We put in some LVP in and thought about going with Coretec and it had good reviews, but I think you are paying more for just the brand, We ended up going with Axiscor Axis Pro 7 and are really happy with it. It has some texture and hides dirt really well (almost making it hard to clean because you cant see most of the dirt).

I got some kind of luxury vinyl flooring put in and I 100% hate the ****.

Looks fake, it can be damaged, and it's slick. Bad bad move on my part.
I don't totally disagree here. But the other adult in the house on the other hand....
