New Dishwasher Recommendations

Had a Bosch in our old house. Solid and affordable. New house we have an Asko, which is far nicer (albeit much newer). Would recommend both.

We bought a top of the line GE on sale 2 years ago. It’s been solid, is quiet, cleans really well, we no complaints. Was going to get a Bosch but this was quite a bit cheaper.

I’ve learned the detergent really determines the cleanliness. We’ve tried a lot of dishwasher detergents. Nothing has beaten the Finish Quantum pods in our dishwasher, not even cascade platinum pods. The quantum’s are fantastic.

Consumer Reports has Bosch models filling their top 10 list. The first non Bosch on their list is a Thermador at #11 for double the price.

For Angie, The first Miele on their list is #23.

In every house we have owned my wife has hated the dishwasher. We bought all new appliances a couple of years ago for our current house. We went with Frigidaire because they offered a fridge in the size we needed. She hasn’t complained about the dishwasher so I assume she likes it, but I am afraid to ask.

If you have put tile down as a kitchen floor since the last dishwasher install, the height of the opening is likely smaller and may influence what will fit.

I'm all about Bosch. Had one for several years. We are just finishing a remodel and couldn't get one for months. So...we went with a high end Kitchenaid. Hope we like it as well...but start with Bosch.

Do you have a dream iron and dream floor mop as well? It's good to know exactly what you want!
Gonna take this on a slight tangent, but steam mops are legit. I like the idea of not leaving any residues on the floor, and they clean everything our four young kids, 3 dogs and 3 cats have thrown at it. You don't have to scrub hard - if it doesn't come up right away, just let the mop sit on the spot for 5 to 10 seconds and the steam penetrates and melts the gunk so it wipes right off.

Might as well have caviar dreams, right?

I know this sounds weird, but one of my only phobias on this planet are irons. I got burnt badly on my arm by one when I was about 3, so I use a steamer instead. I wouldn’t mind an iRobot mop/cleaner!

I just think it's awesome you have a dream dishwasher.

Whatever you get prepare for months after order before you actually get it. We’re still waiting on a GE purchased end of Sept.

Probably depends what and where you order it from. I ordered my kitchenaid from best buy and only had to wait about a week to get installed.

We looked hard at Bosch but they are very expensive and Costco doesn't sell them. We preferred to get it at Costco since you get 4 years of warranty if you use your Costco credit card. We just got this Whirlpool dishwasher at Costco since our old one started leaking out the sides. It isn't anything fancy but it does a great job washing the dishes and isn't very loud at all. Yes you can hear it but by no means is it loud and if you are in the next room you can't hear it at all. https://www.costco.com/whirlpool-di...cle-in-stainless-steel.product.100137721.html

We've had Bosch, Kitchenaid, and Maytag. Bosch is the only way to go for dishwashers, thing is amazing. The rest of their appliances are garbage.

I am so not the traditional housewife type, but man, I just want something quiet, that looks amazing, and leaves dishes absolutely spotless!

Of course, it costs more than my first car.
