According to CR. WR Aaron Horne has joined the program. Free content shows him on our commit list. I believe the story on the front page is about him. Played on same team as Steele Jantz!

Feels like we may be taking a chance on this kid. I would rather we were taking some chances on d linemen.
Maybe recruiting dline is not this year again. The pickings are highly competitive and the available four year projects may not be that many in number.

Re: Aaron Horne

He looks as good as any of our receivers from last year. He actually looks like a deep threat. I give him three stars just looking at his film.

Keep in mind the competition level.

Very true, but without any playmakers returning at WR we need to take some big chances.

Hopefully an RJ Sumrall type pick up. RJ committed later in the year and was only a 2 star.

Looks to be sneaky fast with very good hands (something we can all agree the team lacked this past year). Add in the experience with Jantz and I bet we see this combination often this coming year.

Re: Aaron Horne

Keep in mind the competition level.
The guy catches the ball with his hands, he can change direction and make the catch, he runs backs kicks, he can dive low and catch, he is not a braggart after a big play, he does not juggle catch, he has good balance, he can jump catch. He looks like another Jerry Moses. I am going to say, he is a pleasant addition that Jantz knows. He looks like a winner to me no matter what the competition.

It is pretty clear to me that Iowa State's coaching staff isn't thrilled with the current WR talent level in the program. They've been very aggressive going after that position here late in the 2011 recruiting game. I love it. Just look at the last game of the season against Mizzou. Jerome Tiller didn't play great, but the WR's made everything that much worse. Sedrick Johnson must have seen the writing on the wall.

This one shouldn't influence the scholarship count for this year. It's basically taking a slight risk instead of perhaps banking one against our total.
