I'm asking for some honest answers here. How many players have been removed from the UNI football team in, lets say, the last 10 years for conduct? I mean things like DUIs, Public Intox, Drug Dealing(I know there are a few in this category for sure.), ect ect.

The reason I ask is because I am a UNI alum and there is an Iowa fan that would like me to believe that UNI has been worse off the field than the Hawks but since I dont follow UNI half as close as I do ISU, I cant really disagree with him.

I don't see why it matters, but they lost at least 4 or 5 in that drug snafu alone the season before this last and at least one or 2 O-lineman this year. The only reason these things mater is one fan base starts trashing another and then the other feels the need to justify themselves by trashing the other. This is just another example. Things happen and all schools go through it unfortunately. Iowa has cleaned it up of late, but it will happen again just like it will at ISU and UNI.

Truthfully if a person were smart they'd avoid commenting at all costs as these things have a tendency to turn on them.

You can always hold the upper card on ethics against Iowa if that is you're argument because I'm sure Farley's kids don't live in low income/subsidized housing.
I've always wondered if that's an IA City thing or is that done at more schools than we know of?

Nope that has only ever been done at Iowa because we know life typically never repeats itself and Iowa is the center of moral ineptness.

At least we need that to be true, because hey what else do we have right......................... :wideeyed:

It matters because if your going to make that claim, support it with evidence. None was provided so I figured I would ask rather just blindly argue or accept it.

I do tend to avoid the discussion of dicipline with fans, but I have never heard this claim from a fan before. Am I wrong for wanting the truth rather than just accepting what this person would like me to believe?

Im really not trying to bash Iowa here. I'll make this clear now. Im simply curious to see if the argument presented to me was accurate or not.

I would say that UNI has had their share of OWI/DUI arrests, the pot arrest was a pretty major one but it was great to see the team play on and be successful as if Johnny Gray wasnt even a major contributor. You'll hear about UNI guys gettin in fights because a lot of them think they are the bee's knees, but nothing really serious IMO. You'll have alcohol arrests at any school and to be honest, there really isnt a whole lot you can do to stop those.

For the record, the pot arrest from two years ago only ended with two players being kicked off the team. Not 5-6, as was stated earlier in this thread.

There were two others busted (besides Victor and Johnny) that year - one for OWI and both for possession and paraphernalia. One of them was kicked off the team for a second OWI this year, IIRC.

The sheer numbers aren't even close, though.

The sheer numbers aren't close?!??! If we are still going back 4 years probably but I can assure you in the last 6 months ISU and UNI have both had more people kicked off the team or suspended for new offenses.

I'll clarify the above statement. It is stupid too get involved "casting stones", not pointing out the futility of stone casting. Better....................????

It is still a losers argument none the less. We all have issues and it isn't even close?!?!??!

I dont think anyone in this thread has cast stones. The initial intent of this was a pure comparisson of numbers. Nothing more, nothing less. Frankly, I'd like to know if this person is an idiot or has some legs to stand on by making the claim. Im not looking for another long and drawn out thread of name calling and the "more holy than thou" attitude, or for that matter a thread of which offense is worse. I just want a pure numbers comparison.
