Need advice on hotel options in Lawrence KS

We are making the trip down to Lawrence and we have reservations at 2 hotels. They are the Virginia Inn and Quality Inn and Suites. After looking at trip advisor, Virginia Inn got better reviews, but I don't know if I should trust that. Has anyone stayed at these two hotels? Any info would be appreciated.

I heard the Virgina suites is pretty good.

Holiday Inn has plenty of open rooms, looks like it's just OK, but would do.

Both of them are kinda junky. Quality Inn is kinda sketch.
I would recommend Comfort Inn off of I70. They are brand new right next to Hallmark plant. Quiet area with easy access to 70.

lawrence hotels are bad. stay in overland park and drive over. emaw.

If the Quality Inn in Ames is any representation of the one in Lawrence... skip it.

The only nice thing about the Ames QI is the pool area. Rooms were low quality (ironic right?)/outdated.

The Oread is very nice but I'm sure not cheap

SpringHill Suites (Marriott) at East 6th and New Hampshire is nice. Mass Street is just one block over.

But it's probably booked.
