Nebraska Second, Texas #8 in Spring Game Attendance

91,000+ for Bama... Wow!

I couldn't tell you for sure, Dave, but my guess is that they charged for admission at Alabama. Most schools that get good attendance figures for their spring games have begun to charge for admission. I know they go $10.00 per ticket in Lincoln. Think of the revenue they generated, even at $10.00 per ticket! At Bama, that's nearly $1 million...for a spring game!

Actually, I just looked and attendance was free at Bama. If I were them, I'd charge $10 and pocket an easy million off the game.
Alabama sets A-Day spring game for Saturday April 17

Think of it...that's like going to a bowl game, but not having to split the revenue with your conference counterparts. Nebraska drew 77,936 at $10 per ticket. That is a gate of $779,360. Amazing!

Bama blew it!

If memory serves correct, Nebraska's spring game gate revenue goes to charity. At least it used to.

If you want things to change in a program this is the type of stuff fans must do. Show up the the spring game. ISU fans no longer have an excuse not to be at it since it's now the same weekend as VEISHEA and a lot of people are in town. No choosing between the 2. It was a decent crowd this year, but why would you pass up a tailgating opportunity in April? There's really no reason we could put half of our people in the stadium around 25K or so. I understand to fill the whole JTS we should probably have national title hopes or something, but you want conf championships? Teams that expect them show up to everything. That's what being a diehard is.
