Nebraska renovating Memorial Stadium and.....

Here is the list of what they're doing and some renderings. I just can't fathom how you can spend $500 million dollars.

  • South Stadium demolition and replacement with chair-back general seating.
  • New chair-back seating in West and East stadiums.
  • 360-degree main-level concourse connection and 270-degree upper-level concourse connection.
  • Concession upgrades, refurbished menu options and added points of sale throughout the stadium.
  • Restroom modernization throughout the stadium.
  • Academic curriculum space, with specific uses guided by UNL’s academic leadership.
  • Enhanced student life amenities.
  • ADA upgrades throughout the stadium.

The current state of Nebraska football is summed up in one picture.

My dad one time increased my allowance from 25 cents to 50 cents. I used that buy now and later candy. This is kinda similar to how Nebby is spending their extra ESPN allowance that they will get.

So a couple things here. Baylor built their entire stadium brand new for half this much 10 years ago. And I've always hated the layout of Nebraska's stadium, they have more seats in the endzones than on the sidelines. I guess one way to address that is removing thousands of endzone seats.

I'm not an engineer, but I would think that starting from scratch can be cheaper than having to build around something else due to the obstacles you would encounter.

the South end...91 rows of 16 inch wide seats...and no concessions and no bathrooms. You better not have "Delta Flight" issues if you are in row 91....that's a long haul.

Surprised they didn't go for an enclosed club in the South end...similar to the Sukup.
