Started this morning. Iowa State is in Louisville. The host school almost always advances, also have Oklahoma State here. So will probably need to battle for the final 3 spots.

Iowa State in 4th place after a great 2nd round, one round left to go. Also Tripp Kinney from Waukee was 6 under today to shoot up the leader board into first place. Has a 2 stroke lead.

At least Tripp will be paired up with Matthias Schmid of Louisville for round 3. Schmid is in a tie for second at -6 so they should be able to push each other.

Iowa State was +10 over par for the tournament about 30 minutes ago and dropped to 7th and have since made 5 birdies to move into a T5 with Louisville with 5-8 holes left to play.

Tripp Kinney is back into sole possession of 1st place and is 1 stroke ahead of two (2) people currently.

From the looks of the other teams who started at the Front 9, it would seem that the Front 9 is playing easier than the back 9...We started off at Hole #10 so that should work in our favor.

Louisville beating WVU for that final advancement spot would help ensure Tripp of a ticket to the Championship. WVU has no golfers in play for an at large spot, but #2 on the leaderboard is from Louisville.

I know they resolve any ties for teams competing to advance, but do they play playoff holes for medalist honors or do they share it? It would suck for Tripp to have to go back out after sitting in the clubhouse for a couple of hours.

18 has played as the 6th toughest hole in the tournament giving up 14 birdies to 62 bogies and 8 double bogies. (138 pars) That's a tie for the second fewest birdies surrendered.

It has been the 4th toughest hole in round 3.
