Repeating from what I usually do when these threads pop up but I was and forever will be the guy at the party who spends more time hanging out with the dog than humans.
The ones with people finding stray dogs in really hard situations and saving them to grow into having a good life are one of a few things that currently give me hope for humanity.
Not sure why but this quote makes me think of an episode of 60 minutes I watched a while back called The World's Smartest Dog. Here's link.

A couple of things I took away from this that were really interesting to me is the part related to inferred learning and the MRI and response to owners smell.
Makes me love puppers even more. I think my dog might be smarter than I am.
I know my dogs are smarter than me...they get to sleep with the wife more than I do.
