I think there are 6 guys who you can make a case for NFL MVP this year:

Chris Johnson
Brett Favre
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Phillip Rivers
Aaron Rodgers

Chris Johnson rushed on a team that went 8-8 and missed the playoffs. You could even make a case that he wasn't MVP of his team as the Titans went 8-2 with Vince Young at QB

Manning led his team to the best record but his stats are the worst of the 5 QB's. Only QB to not have a QB rating of 100 and he threw 16 INT's.

Rivers is the 3rd best statistical QB of the group and should get more praise then he does

Rodgers had a great year but don't see him getting it over Favre as his stats aren't quite as good (although pretty similiar) and Favre won the division plus both head to head matchups.

So that leaves Brees vs Favre. Brees played in one less game and had 1 more TD and 4 more INT's. Who gets your MVP?

Me? Favre. Not just because of his stats, which are impressive (107 passer rating, 33 TD, 7 INT), but because he did it all his first year with the team. He had little work with timing with his WR's. Also last year the Vikings ranked 17th in total offense and 25th in passing. This year? 5th in total offense and 8th in passing!

I would say Chris Johnson but the Titans did not have a great season. Personally, I think Manning gets it, followed by Brese and Favre.

Manning, the Vikings are probably still in the playoffs with T-Jack or Sage. Without Manning, the Colts don't win 6 games.

IMO, Peyton Manning.

Why? I think every guy on the list is worthy of MVP, but when I look at what the guy means to the team in terms of running the offense, providing momentum to the defense, getting in the head(s) of defenses, and the overall management of a game I have to go with Peyton. All of these teams would obviously be diminished without each of these respected guys not on the team, but I think Peyton would be missed the most.

Chris Johnson or Peyton, Favre and Brees ****** it down their legs over the last four weeks.

Favre the last 4 weeks..... 7 TD's vs 2 INT's. Hasn't really ****** anything down his leg.

If you look at Stats Peyton isn't a top 5 candidate

This question looks like a best QB or running back question. Favre is 3rd on his team for MVP. Jarred Allen and Adrian peterson are before him.
On the Packers Charles Woodson is the MVP.

You guys look like your debating the Heisman instead of the Best player and MVP.

Favre is far and away the MVP of the Vikings. The Vikings had AP last year and had the 17th rated offense. This year they are 5th.

Adrian Peterson is not even close this season. Allen, maybe. But you're kidding yourself, or you're a Favre hater if you can't see he is the glue on this year's team. I wasn't a fan of Favre coming to the Vikes, but I can admit that he has been everything he needed to be this season. Favre has made Rice, Harvin, Shancoe all better than any other QB could have. They'll all benefit from their exposure to him.

Not to mention, he's had his best season as a 40yr old.

He still has not been asked to win a game. Look what happened to the Vikes when Peterson quit running effective. They get beat by the Bears and Panthers. When Peterson kicks it back into gear they win. Favre is just ask not to be interception Favre.
