MSG Sphere Las Vegas

It’s set up to be a massive failure besides the cool visual effects. U2 hasn’t sold out a single show yet. No other artists have signed up because they don’t want the visual effects to take away from their music. The 45min movie slated for it is $70 and the U2 is $500.

MSG actually spun it off into its own company they’ve lost so much money on it.

It’s cool as hell but will be a money pit for whoever tries to take it on

$500 for U2 with a substitute drummer is a tough sell.

I'm curious to see how this will be viewed a couple years down the road.
I guess I'm in the camp that views most of the things built in Vegas as simultaneously being impressive feats yet hideous and corny.

Then again, I can't even stand it when someone builds a Mediterranean style house in the Mountains of Utah, so over-the-top architecture is not my thing at all.

Looking at Ticketmaster's site every show I looked at says sold out.

Been tracking this thing since I was in Vegas for the UNLV game and we walked by the construction every day. Quite a project, will definitely have a get in there some day.

This venue is so cool that it upstages even the best performers!

U2 is doing a residency there:

Did he say that there are no speakers? What big-name band can perform without speakers? How does that even work for an electric guitar?
