according to the article, Ames has a population of 86,001 and a median home price of $113,950. I'm definitely calling ******** on the first one and the second seems way too low.

Just guessing, but maybe that population is the Ames Metro which might include all of Story County. It's not explained in the article.

ames itself is around 55k-60k and then you add gilbert, story city and maybe nevada. i still dont think those add up to 86k though.

Chiz built a house on Cameron School Road and my uncle did landscaping for him. The guy had a 3200 square foot deck! He was living well for sure...
