Just saw this article posted this morning:

But that may be just the beginning of Peterson's off-the-field woes. A report by theMinneapolis Star-Tribune outlines a pattern of irregularities with how money was being dispersed from Peterson's charity foundation. Specifically, the report alludes to an incident where one of Peterson's relatives allegedly paid for a hotel room used for a sexual tryst with Peterson and other women with a credit card from the foundation:

Further, the report alluded to irregularities with the financial statements of the foundation. Documents from 2009 showed that the foundation supposedly dispersed funds to two charities which claimed to have never received any money from Peterson's foundation.

Maybe a better thread title would have been "Final 'Nail' in AP's coffin"

He's had run-ins with the law prior to this season......yet is on the Wheaties box last year. lol. He's been a likeable dude since college, popular...and he was given a 'pass' until now

It's easy to sweep stuff like this under the rug. But once a real damning thing comes out there is no point to protect the minor infractions anymore.

As the night wore on, the report says, one woman who said she knew Peterson previously became upset when she saw him having sex with another woman. She started an argument that lasted at least an hour. According to the report, when she told him that she was “emotionally attached to him,” Peterson reminded her that he was engaged to another woman and had a baby.

Peterson sounds like a real *******.

A guy in my fantasy league is holding onto AP. Guess he thinks he is coming back this year.

Has there been a study to identify how many kids he actually has? Seems like every story mentions a new one. I assume the next Census will have to add a space to identify AP as your father.

FYI - did a quick Google search and found that as of over a year ago, AP had 7 confirmed kids, all by different mothers. Have to imagine at least that many have gone unconfirmed.

So….is there going to be any way for the Vikings to get out of paying for his sorry ***….at least prospectively or is this just the risk you take signing individuals with questionable character?

I'd say things like this situation will be (or should be) covered in every future NFL contract. Maybe they already are?

Great memories of the game with Iowa State where his dad got to see him play for the first time after getting out of prison. Prison! The old man was shown on TV about 400 times in the first half. AP showboats, leaps into the end zone on a T.D., breaks his collarbone, out for the year. ESPN Classic!

I'm guessing the Vikings knew about his shenanigans and gave him a new contract three years ago anyway. That stuff has been speculated about for years on message boards but had pretty well been kept quiet in the press. As I understand it from various Internet sources, the guaranteed money from the contract has been paid out. Perhaps the Vikings could try to get some of that back (if there were any moral clauses in his contract), but it just makes the publicity nightmare worse.

The best thing for the Vikes to do is to cut him after this season. I wish they would have cut or traded him several years ago and retooled the offense to something more feasible for the NFL.
