Miyan Williams flips to Ohio St

Not convinced this is the best move for him. But pretty hard not to be swayed by all things he saw and heard yesterday. Im sure he is confident in his abilities to get playing time there.

And a punt and kick returner! Think this might be on the coaches.

We have a good punt and a good kick return guy. Just really hard to get a punt return when they really don't try to set one up. Honestly, I am not sure what we are doing on punts. We rush the punter, but we never try to block the kick. I think in desperation they did set up a punt return against KU and got 20 yards. Kene is a very good kick returner. He just does not get a lot of opportunities, and it is pretty hard to turn down starting at the 25. Had a pretty good one against KU, and he is certainly capable of breaking one.

Well, too bad he flipped, but tOSU is one of those schools that is usually going to get the guys they want. At this point I am still pretty happy ISU beat Bama for Purdy.

Pretty late in the game though. He held that scholly as a P5 placeholder for himself till pretty late. It's not just losing a guy, it's losing the opportunity to get someone else to commit that would actually sign on to be a Cyclone.
Just remember that we didn’t start recruiting Purdy until much later than this. For that matter, I seem to recall that a scholarship opened up for Zach Petersen about this time. Both of those turned out reasonably well for ISU.

Pretty tough to beat the #1 team in the country for an in-state kid. tOSU has and will always have all kinds of talent, but we're starting a FR right now and playing time is not going to be all that easy at ISU either. We're fine not signing a RB in this class. We only lose Croney and still have a SR in Nwangwu, a JR in Lang, a Soph in Hall and a FR in Brock. That's a damn good group. Gotta find a good one in the next class, but that never seems to be a huge problem for this staff. I'd say find a good grad transfer OL or interior DL and that would be more of a benefit for next year.

It’s different than basketball though. We’ve got 20 some odd schollies. It wouldn’t even really hurt much if we just held the scholarship for the next year. Wish we could have gotten the guy, but this isn’t the end of the world.
