Has anyone Meyer look off his primary receiver yet this year, other than on a scramble? I think this comes down to either he can only focus on one target and is not smart enough to check to a secondary receiver, or Barney is so one dimensional it is rediculous. My thoughts are a true athlete would check off on his own if no receivers are open. This weekend just watch his eyes, as they will only focus to one guy. Probabaly why his interceptions are so obvious.

Here is what would happen if he looked off the first receiver 1..2...SACK.

I'm not saying that Meyer is not partially to blame but he has no time. A good line can make an average QB look great. A crappy line can make an excellent QB look **** poor.

For example, look at about every QB we've played this year. We've made most of them look like top notch QB's because our defense puts very little pressure on the QB.

Anyone watch Boise State play last night? Their line's blocking was great. There QB looked like a star with the amount of time he had. You could see him standing back there going through his check downs 1 by 1.

I found myself watch BSU play and thinking if only ISU had a team like this? That is when I realized how far we have fallen.

Am I the only one that can't see his eyes when he plays? You can't tell me you can see his eyes when he is on the field and if you can I want to sit by you this weekend because your seats are way better than mine. Meyer has also developed a habit of flushing at the sign of pressure instead of stepping up in the pocket. That's what it looks like from my view.

A friend of mine was being critical of Meyer taking off and running too soon, even when pressure does not exist. I gave him this analogy...

You walk through a doorway and get smacked in the face with a baseball bat. Later, you walk through another doorway and again get hit in the face with a bat.

The next doorway you walk through, what do you think you're gonna do? Duck or just not walk through it.

That's what we're dealing with here in relation to Meyer and the blocking up front.

Or really, the lack thereof.

That's pretty funny and accurate at the same time. I guess I can see it now, but why is it always to the right? I have seen him make throws rolling left, why doesn't he ever run that way? I see why he runs though.

I believe Dre Dokes commented on it earlier this year in the quotes section of a Cyclones.com recap. He stares em down.

My thoughts exactly. Meyer is a very, very good quarterback. I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed, but he may be developing bad habits due the situation he's stuck in.

Our quarterback isn't smart enough but you can't spell probably or ridiculous.:eek:o7dt:

Why right?

Well, the right side is a little better than the left side. Not by much, but it's better.

I think the biggest problem with Meyer is that the OC needs to get some quick. short passes that go across the middle of the field.
Something that he can throw off of a two or three step drop from under center. The OL is not very good, but the offense as it sits is just a open invitation for all DL and LBers to go after Meyer and the RBs in the shotgun. Until the LBers have to play pass coverage the running game and long passing game will not improve.

Meyer has a very bad habit of always flushing to the right, and when flushed to just run backwards instead of trying to get to the corner. Sometimes he has a DB or a LB chasing and isn't fast enough to get away, but he also retreats when one DT is chasing him.

One thing about this team, besides the punter and Kicker, there is lotsof porblems to work on.

Hey cyclonepride(John Kerry),

Get back to teaching your 3rd graders how to read and write. Stop wasting your time with sports stuff, it will just be confusing for you, it's not PE or recess during lunch.

timc243,

Not saying that I can see Meyer's eyes, but when you only look to the receivers on the right, try turning you head to the left for another option. Go ahead and come see me, I will be on the 50 yard line, with 15 others in our section.

I will trade straight up a student section ticket for one of your tickets. I would gladly trade.
