I'm a dinosaur rocker for the most part. Led Zep is my favorite band, but I do like a lot of other music too.

I'd like to see what you CFers like when it comes to mellow music, or specific songs.

Some of my favorites:

Holding Back The Years -- Simply Red http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG07WSu7Q9w

I Go Crazy -- Paul Davis version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj4jXavFbOc

Don't Dream It's Over -- Crowded House http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9gKyRmic20

Everybody Here Wants You -- Jeff Buckley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrMwgTc69y4

Lost Cause - Beck
If You Don't Know Me By Now - Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes
Question - Old 97s

Boots of Spanish Leather. The Airborne Toxic Event cover is pretty good. It's in the Youtubes.

Why is it that Dylan songs sound better when Dylan isn't singing them?

Springsteen and Melissa Etheridge singing Thunder Road kicks butt.

Air Supply!

Donovan - Chase the Wind

Don't Give Up On Us Baby - David Soul....the 70s were a weird time. Hit up the Bridge on Sirius. All of that soft hit stuff is there

Black Water - The Doobie Brothers (not very slow, but definitely mellow)
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
As I Lay Me Down - Sophie B Hawkins
A Long December - Counting Crows
Making Love out of Nothing at All - Air Supply
She Talks to Angels - The Black Crows
No Woman No Cry - Bob Marley and the Wailers
By The Rivers of Babylon - The Melodians
Walking Away - Craig David
Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode
Lovesong - The Cure
Twisted - Keith Sweat
Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in my Hand - Primitive Radio Gods (that is one long title, but great song)

I'm sure I have a ton more, but these are some of my favorites. Plus a ton of other reggae slow songs and Spanish ballads.

Kishi Bashi - Manchester, Bright Whites for a little more up tempo, really anything by him.
Two Hours Traffic - I Did What I Could
Marshall Crenshaw
Jules Shear
Hothouse Flowers - Gypsy Fair
Gaslight Anthem - National Anthem

I can pretty much go down the my work listening list, but here are some favorites.

Railroad Man - The Eels (most of The Eels for that matter)
Sweetest Kill - Broken Social Scene
How It Ends - DeVotchKa
Wait - M83
Myth - Beach House
Panama - Casados
Body Talk - Wheat

All of Bon Iver's stuff is pretty chill. El Ten Eleven. Iron & Wine, etc. etc. etc. There is no shortage of mellow stuff out there.

(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right - Barbara Mandrell

It's a cover of a Luther Ingram R&B hit from the early 70s. It was a #1 country single and was her only top 40 pop hit.

Cruised through my bookmarked music videos and didn’t find much “mellow†but have these as the closest thing.

Blind Faith – Can’t Find My Way Home
Traffic – Low Spark of High Heeled Boys
Eric Clapton – Layla (Unplugged)
The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony
Eva Cassidy – Time After Time (love this one but they delete the videos as fast as folks post them so only have the live version below).
