Dear Cyclones:
I want to thank you for your awesome support last week as we tipped off the Big 12 home season! You truly showed what great student support we have here at ISU and what HILTON MAGIC is all about.
Last week I asked for your support and you came out in full force to help us beat the Cornhuskers. You were there, you were loud, you entertained, you encouraged, and we won... you are the BEST!
On Saturday before a national audience on ESPN, the Cyclone student body was at its best. #6 ranked Kansas came calling; coming off a 30 point win over #10 ranked Oklahoma State. Where most across the country expected the Jayhawks to come into Ames and win easily. But, you, our team and I knew differently. The atmosphere inside Hilton was Magical. Together (the Cyclone fans and this team) fought Kansas for 45 minutes before a winner was decided. What a GREAT college basketball game!
I want to thank you again for getting the Big 12 home schedule off to such an exciting start. Life in the Big 12 continues... I hope you will be watching Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. CST on TV (ABC 5) as we travel to Colorado. And, please come back out to Hilton Coliseum to cheer on the Cyclones as we face Kansas State and their new coach Bob Huggins on Saturday afternoon; game time is 12:30 p.m.
