McDermott owes Chizik big time

Thanks to the crazy ISU football weekend, people don't seem to be talking much about the pitiful display in Iowa City by the men's basketball team. Maybe McDermott can fly under the radar for a while longer while the search for a new football coach continues or MAYBE the expectations have been lowered for hoops and people are just too exhausted to care anymore. I'm not sure that this team can recover from the losses to Drake and UI. Hopefully wrong but I have my doubts.

People are aware of the shape the bball team is in. The problem is, nobody cares right now with the Chizik saga. The light will shine McD's way soon enough. :)

The Iowa loss means squat to me now. I'm concerned about the vacancy in our football head coaching position. BBall can take a back seat until a new coach is hired.

The only way GMAC does not put ISU back on the map is if we don't give him time to. I hope he is coaching here ten years from now.

I say we just give Greg time and things will work out. He is a great guy and a good coach (and a decent recruiter), it is just a matter of time. I think the worst is behind us from a B-Ball stand point (with Stinson, Blalock, Taylor, and Johnson all leaving before their time).

I've been on vacation for a week...glad I missed the meltdown, but I would definitely have to agree with this thread.

I am as disappointed as anybody with the losses to Drake and Iowa; so much so that I’ve literally lost sleep. However, I’m staying behind this team. They need us as fans now more then ever. I encourage everybody to keep going to the games and cheering loudly. The next 5 home dates are going to be small crowds due to the recent disappointing losses, who we are playing (Jacksonville State, South Dakota State, Mercer, SIU-Edwardsville, and Houston Baptist), and the fact that they are break games. Fan-up, go to the games, and cheer loud!!!
