I wouldnt mind seeing them getting spanked with a 3rd string QB though either. I just hope we dont see a last second hail mary from Tate to make everyone forget that hes an overrated and selfish punk. After the game, how soon will we hear about iowa going 11-1 next year? Before the spring game im sure... OH, wait... they dont have a spring game.
I just hope Iowa is at full strength. I don't want them to have any excuses after they get destroyed by Texas.
Just watched Cy-Hawk talk with Miller and Deace and they had predictions for 2007 and guess what??? Starting already with their prediction of EIU going 9-3 and getting a BCS bid and another Jan bowl game. I about fell off my chair I was laughing so hard.
They always have a favorable schedule due to the weak Big 10 aside from OSU and Michigan. Doesn't OSU fall off their schedule next season and Penn State comes back onto the schedule?
tOSU AND Michigan are off their already weak schedule. We might be about the 3rd or4th toughest team we play next year. Wisconsin is far and away the best team they play, and the compitition really drops off from there. Purdue, Illinois, and Indy are getting better, but still not great.

What a lame schedule. If they don't go at least 9-3, there needs to be some forced coaching changes over there.

He made a good point, talking about "show me where Iowa gets better next year". They lose a QB, running back, tight end, etc.
He said this and was clear on the fact he was aware of the easy schedule. I think he could very well be right.
And...what a mess that would be - if Iowa was 6-6 or even 7-5 next year with that schedule. KF gets a big raise, 6-6 this year and the same next year?
Fans won't tolerate that very well.

IMO, this year, the Big 12 wasn't all that tough with Oklahoma and Texas.

Their schedule is not as easy as when we didn't play Texas or Oklahoma. How did that work out for us?

While i agree with you, what RB do they lose? I thought Young was a junior this year and the two other guys were sophs. I could be wrong though.
Next year Iowa doesn't loose any RB unless your counting Sam Brownlee. Iowa will be breaking in a new QB although there are some who like him better than Tate. (But when a starting QB is struggling when isn't the back up a popular choice) The schedule looks easy but starts off tougher than some think. The first two games should be wins but you never know breaking in a new QB. Then I think the ISU game next year will be very close. A lot of Hawk fans may think it will be a pushover but Ames is a very tough place to place for the Hawks...especially with Jake C. at the helm. Then Iowa starts the big ten schedule off with a bang going to Wisc and Penn State in the first three weeks. I guess the good news for the defense next year is they return 8 starters but will be without our safeties. (I thought that the loss of Paris and Moser had a signficant effect on the ISU team this year). Iowa's expectations may be a little high with the schedule but the reality is that Iowa is going to have to prove itself again to garner some of the lofty expectations that fans have for the University of Iowa.
So, I have an ethical question for you all.
I really want to watch this game on TV for two reasons:
1) Texas is playing, and Colt McCoy is back in, and I want to watch him go.
2) I want to watch Iowa lose in spectacular fashion.
However, since I live in Iowa (Iowa City, no less), if I watch the game on TV, it will get recorded in the TV ratings. Since I'm in Iowa City, they will obviously assume that I am a Hawk fan, not someone rooting for the Longhorns, and that will just help Iowa's case. They always get good bowls (deserved or not) because their fans historically travel well and give high TV viewership. I would be adding to that tally.
Is it okay for me, as a Cyclone rooting on the Longhorns, to watch the game on TV?

Are you serious?? I think you're joking, but with the length and extensiveness of your question, it's hard to tell. One viewer is extremely insignificant and unless you have a TV hooked up to the Nielsen meter, it will be unrecorded anyway.
Go ahead and watch the game, root for the longhorns. Just as I'll be doing via Cedar Rapids, in the heart of hawkeye country. bleh!
