Does anyone have knowledge of the books Campbell has referenced with regards to his philosophy in the past? I think he assigns the team a book each offseason. I have a list of a few in my head, but I'd like to compile these and start reading them, if I can.

I know he's mentioned:

1) Ego Is the Enemy - Ryan Holliday
2) The Obstacle is the Way - Ryan Holliday

I'm guessing he also references some Joshua Medcalf books, just based on the phrases he's used, like:

- Chop Wood Carry Water
- Pound the Stone
- Win In The Dark

Can anyone add to this list of confirmed books he's referenced?

Speaking of Holiday, I'm reading his book The Daily Stoic this year. Quite a few of my friends recommended it and I about got it over the summer, but I wanted to start it on January 1. It's really good so far. I'm fascinated by stoicism.

If people like these concepts I would also recommend books by David Eagleman, which cover the neuroscience on some of these topics. Long story short breaking routines, facing challenges, learning new things not only provide a great mental boost, it changes how our brains perceive time. I think the simplest way to put it is if you want to get out of the mode where the days seem long, but the years fly by, creating some chaos in your life is a great solution.

Same! I’ve been trying to follow that philosophy as well. I fail miserably at it but still trying.

Any one in particular you would recommend?
