Marvin Clark

Mason will have absolutely everyone after him if he is an immediately eligible transfer. The chances of him ending up at ISU would be low.

Actually his brother played for St Johns while Coach MattA was there. From 05-07. So I'm sure he and his father know of and have a relationship with Matt. Plus he plays with former cyclone Cam Fowler. So there's another connection. Can has started nine games for them this year and averages 15 minutes a game. they are awful. Their two next best players are both graduating after this year.

A little tired of the 5th year senior ruse. If he comes, good, if not, great! I love players that can contribute immediately, but I'm ready for Fred to start really building a program with his own guys. The cornerpieces are there (Niang, Naz, Thomas, Morris, SDW) its time to keep bringing in the HS kids if you ask me.

I'll let Vaughn and Cunningham know your thoughts.

What in the hell is that logic? Get a proven vet who can contribute or settle for a plan C who will sit for 2 years on the bench. I know which I would take.

By your rationale, Kane wouldn't be here and we would be a bubble team. Time to let the old ways of thinking fade away. Fred has brought his NBA knowledge to ISU, which includes being comfortable with one-year players and knowing how to meld them into a cohesive unit. The name of the game is talent, whether you have it for one year or four. It is certainly possible SDW or Naz will as good in their senior years as Kane is now, but no guarantees.

What?!?!?! Serious?!?!?!

I love the 5th year Sr. stuff. Right now we don't have the highly touted HS kids we need/want knocking on our door so we might as well continue with what is working (transfers).

How can anyone get tired of Fred's recipe when we have gone the the NCAA Tournament 3 out of his 4 years?

Yes, let's go back in time and stop leading in the field we basically innovated that nearly every other school is now trying to catch up to. Brill.

Are you talking to the right guy?

Not sure where you've been the last 18 months, but we missed on ALL of our HS prospects for this class, save Clark (who we started recruiting 6 weeks ago) who will soon make his decision.

You can scrape the bottom of the barrel if you want, but I would way rather grab a 1-2 year player that is proven to have some skills at the D1 level, than to reach on a kid that will be very likely to take up a scholarship for 1-2 years before transferring.

Probably a good guess. Though don't read too much into the timing as the reasoning. He had said a month ago he was planning on taking his visits and announcing in the Mid-March. This was always MC's time table.

I assume that means that he's not coming here since we'll be smack dab in the middle of our OSU game at that point.
