Mark Teahen trade talks

How about KC? First the Coco Crisp deal and now another possible move.

For that price they better be getting DeJesus instead! No thanks, not a good enough upgrade to be dealing those 2 in the same trade.

Meh comes to mind when I think about Teahen.

I would much rather want Dunn but I already know thats not going to happen.

Dunn still produces. I dont care if you strike out 2 times or ground out two times, drive in runs and you are ok with me.

The guy that strikes out twice a game?

Are you being serious right now? I hate it when people use strikeouts as an argument against a player. A strikeout is the same as a ground out or a fly out to the warning track. They all count for one out. He walks over 100 times a year and hits 40 homeruns a year.

except you can't advance runners on a strikeout...

Dunn would not be bad at all. He's good for about 40 HR 100 RBI a season and despite his high K total he does have a pretty high on base percentage. .381 for his career, that's much better than Soriano's .329 career OBP and even the past few years if you compare the 2 they are pretty similar in most stats outside of OBP and BA with Dunn being more consistent in the power numbers and Soriano a little higher BA and SB and Dunn K's a few more times but you probably will get more offensive production for less money with Dunn than the Cubs have got for Soriano so far and his big contract.

Teahan has been overrated since High School. Everyone has been waiting for him to break out since he was 14, still hasn't happened...

I've only been waiting for him breakout since the Royals got him for Carlos Beltran. As a Royals fan I would love to get Marshall or Fontenot for him. If we get both I will laugh in the face of Cub fan:biggrin:

The Royals are willing to go up to $85 million for their payroll. This would be a GREAT trade for them if they are able to pull it off...

I wouldn't mind having Dunn for his bat but I just dont think he could handle RF at Wrigley. He would be a huge defensive liability. I think I would rather have DeRosa in RF fulltime then Dunn or Teahen.

What I really think the Cubs need to do...As much as it pains me to say it, but I think the Cubs need to trade Derek Lee. His power numbers are really going down and he is becoming a huge double play guy. With his age nearing mid 30's I think it would be best to deal him now while he still has solid value. This would also open the door for Hoffpauir who really deserves to be an every day player with the numbers he is putting up here in Iowa and the limited time he has got in Chicago.
