Anyone else catch Jonny M's gesture to the Redskins bench at 2:28 in the 3rd. I wonder if a fine is headed his way....

Ha, I saw the gesture but thought it was a sign to his bench like gunslinger. I just rewound it and that was the full bird. Fine his dumb ***!

so, you think televised sports ought to allow flipping the bird?

It's more than just the Manzel thing. They have cracked down on all types of celebrations. These guys are Professionals and Entertainers let them have some fun and do their celebrations.

This wasn't a celebration, though. This was a hand gesture that's inappropriate on television in pretty much any circumstance. I get the whole "No Fun League" argument, and there's definitely something to that, but Johnny Manziel flipping off the Washington bench is not an example of that. It's just not. Now, it's not that big of a deal, but if the league decides to fine him for it, it's perfectly justified.

I understand that but "that's why I don't watch it" ?? Because they can't dunk or celebrate like idiots? You quit watching NFL football because of that?

Considering the game he's having, he may just want to cool that down. Gestures by backup QBs don't usually go over well.

Between the Browns QBs, I think Grossman has helped himself the most tonight by not playing.

They should fine him significantly, because they can't have players doing that, but I don't really care one bit.

One of the reasons but not the only reason. Mainly I prefer college sports over Pro. I will watch more college football games on any given Saturday than I have full NFL games in the last 2 years combined.

I love the ESPN headline right now. "Manziel Throws TD Strike" Did they even see the play? It was an underhand tossed inside screen. The word "Strike" implies power, velocity, accuracy, etc. This pass had none of that. It was the most un-"strike-like" pass possible.

Manziel the new Tebow?
