So, now that we know Mangino is OC, what differences do you expect versus the Pistol/Zone Read/3 & Out offense we ran this past year? Secondly, with Mangino at the helm, who do you think may have a leg up to be the starting QB?

I don't recall Reesing running much at KU. I have a feeling this plays more to Rohach starting versus Richardson.

Depending on the QB, I expect to see the zone read less. I also think we will go under center some, just based on some of CPR's comments and what I remember from Mangino's past offenses.

I honestly have no idea. He seems like the guy who will find the best QB and tailor the offense to whoever that is rather than what we've done the last couple years which is run the exact same plays no matter who the QB is.

I think Richardson will actually have a leg up. Reesing wasn't a big-time, big-play scrambler like Vince Young or RG3, but he was adequate, quick, and smart. All traits that SBR possesses. SBR is bigger though, and has a stronger arm. Exciting when thinking about the potential we now have with Mangino at the helm. Expectations shall remain tempered for now, however.

I expect it to be run with much more precision. We will have far more explosive plays as well. The Offense will play with more toughness and passion.

I wanted a Coach that had CPR's fire. I think Mangino has the passion for the game like Paul. It will be a more intense staff overall with his addition. The O needs attitude badly.

We return almost everyone on offense plus add two big time wide receivers. A lot to like about this offense for next season.

Defense too for that matter.

Well, I guess I need to rearrange my vacation schedule to make room for that bowl game around the holidays!

I'm really curious to see how this changes our defensive approach. Knowing the futility of our offense Wally has played less aggressively to this point.

I think this is about spot on. Zone read isn't going anywhere and lining up under center certainly isn't happening.

Might be THREE big time receivers if you count D'vario Montgomery...and throw in an all conference TE as well in Bibbs. Wimberly is an awfully nice weapon out of the backfield as well.

I hope this "new" offense means more TD and less 3 and out. Beyond that, I'm with CPR in that I don't care as long as we score and often.
