Mangino is AP coach of the year

Hilarious fat jokes aside, I would say he earned it, weak schedule or not.

Maybe I should have refined my statement and said "All lame fat jokes aside..."

True, yes he did earn it. He had a great season, considering he eat... errr... sorry... BEAT almost every team they put on his plate this year.

Sorry, guys, I'm being a complete ******* this afternoon

This is a humongous honor for Mangino. He bellyed up each and every Saturday and refused to push away from the table, no matter what opponent. The Jayhawks gobbled up every opponent but one. I think that this is well deserved icing on the cake.

I like Mangino, good for him. People expect them to be average next year with the tougher schedule but I still see them being a 9-3 type team.

Couple quotes I find just too funny:
"In our neighborhood, arguing and fighting were an expression of affection," Tommelleo said. "Mark was always at the top of the chain. (THE FOOD CHAIN)

"Sometimes," he added with a chuckle, "Mark could be a gigantic pain in the butt.

I think Pinkel really should have won...I dont care much for mangino and his soft schedule...rewarding a team and a coach that slid into a BCS bowl.

Congrats to Mangino! ...even though he is wider than the Orange Bowl mascot.

So let's say it is a couple years down the road. Chiz puts together a season like Mangino with a similar schedule. Would he deserve the nod?

2008 non-confernce schedule away UNLV & Iowa respectable
2009 non-conference schedule home Army & Iowa respectable
2010 non-conference schedule away Iowa & home Utah respectable

2007 Kansas toughest non-conference Toledo home.

Schedules wont be similar....
