Here's how it should shake out. A NEW Conference comprised of the most desirable Mountain West schools with the remnants of the Big XII. By forming a new conference, the Mountain West can rid itself of a couple red-headed step-children that were only invited along in order to make 8 teams when they broke off from the WAC to form the Mountain West 10 years ago. (TCU was not a charter member). Namely, San Diego St., and New Mexico for sure, and possibly Air Force, who has a nice following in football but is NEVER D I caliber in basketball, or any other sport, really. A new conference could also open fresh with a new TV network plan.
