MLB: Look out AL central

I'm already thinking this team will take us back to the glory years of George Brett, Amos Otis, Hal McRae, Willie Wilson, Dan Quisenberry, Bret Saberhagen, etc, etc, etc...

Go Royals!

We need more Royals threads on here and wayyyy less Cub threads.

So far Nunez and Soria have shown some WICKED stuff and against the "toughest" lineup in baseball. If Greinke can get a good game tommorrow, I will officially become excited.
Too bad Cox cable decided not to show all the FSN Royal games this year or I could have seen todays game. Instead of 140, we get 100 and no HD.

Two games into the season? Come back and say something three months from now...

2-0 looks prety good when you look at the past several years when they start out something like 4-12.

Royals fans have been waiting a long time for something to get excited about so it won't take much for some irrational exuberance to begin to show.

That's what sports is all about though, believing that "this year is our year." Yes, perenial bottom dwellers like the Royals have had a tough go of it, but most fans want to believe that "this year will be different." Some of us are realists, some of us are dreamers.

Going into the year I thought KC had a good squad but I still don't think they are quite there yet. They have done wonders to upgrade their farm system and could be competitive REAL soon. There is just no excuse to not pay your big league team AND have a bad developmental system.

You know, just because they are 2-0 right now doesn't mean that 2-3 weeks from now they WON'T be 4-12

With that kind of outlook you just have to be a Cubs fan.

You are right about the 4-12 thing though, but I'd rather not look at it that way. Heck, they might just be 16-0 two weeks from now :biglaugh:

I'll take 2-0 on the road against one of the best teams in baseball any day. As young as the Royals are, a confidence boost such as this to start the season may do wonders for them.

Nope - I am a Twins fan and a Mets fan (by family). I'd say the Yankees are the only team that I despise more than the Cubs...

It takes a lot for me to get amped for the Royals but when you expect to start out 0-3 and you get a sweep on the road against one of the best teams in the majors that's about as good as it gets for the last 15 years.
