So this question came up in the Firehouse already this morning because brought about heated discussion from both sides. So I thought I would pose the question to CF. In their primes, 1 on 1, LeBron vs Jordan. Who wins and why?

I would say Jordan. He has such a natural shooting motion and can hit clutch shots. He also has the ability to get to the hoop with ease. Not to say that LeBron doesn't possess these skills, but I think the old style of play would win out. LeBron tries to much fancy crap when he gets the ball whereas Jordan would just drop a three in your face or take it to the hoop tongue hanging out and all.

Can LeBron flop to keep Jordan's shots from counting?

Oh, and the correct answer is we all would win. That would have been fun. Reminds me of the old computer game Dr. J vs. Bird one on one.

I hate Lebron, but I will agree with this. Jordan is truely one of the all time bad people in sports history.

I don't hate Lebron, I don't really know much about the NBA because I don't really follow it, but from the sounds of it, other than his move to South Beach Show, Lebron is a pretty decent guy, considering his wealth and fame. His problem is he doesn't have he charisma that Jordan had. Jordan looks good on camera and used that to his advantage. Luckily, he played in a day, before social media, when everyone would be tweeting all the MJ ******** that probably went down.

It would go both ways. LeBron would be able to take him down to the block and beat his *** and Jordan would be able to break him down up top. If they played 10 times I would go with LeBron 6 to 4. But at the same time they aren't the same position or even close to the same player so to compare this 1 on 1 stuff it's really pretty dumb.

For those of us that have watched both in their prime, IMO the easy answer is Jordan.

There were never questions, discussions, concerns about Jordan disappearing during a big game. There have been plenty regarding LeBron.

Don't get me wrong, LeBron is a fantastic player, but he doesn't have the mental edge (heck....no one does/did) that Jordan had and thus I think that advantage would also transfer over to a one-on-one matchup.

Thats what Im saying, I just dont see Jordan allowing Lebron to beat him, if they played 10 times Jordan wins all 10. That being said if Jordan is 100 then Lebron is a 99.5

The other day on the Dan Patrick Show he had on Reggie Miller and this question was brought up. Reggie said it was unfair to compare the two. The NBA is completely different now than when it was 15-20 years ago.

Yeah, that's right Michael Jordan was in his prime 20 YEARS AGO! That would be like comparing MJ in his prime to Walt Frazier and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1974- it is just unrealistic- it was a different game.

It is also said that MJ would average 45 ppg in today's NBA because of the tighter officiating. Back in the day you could about get away with murder and nothing would be called. Today if you breathed on someone too hard its a foul.

Jordan. Only because if he's losing I think the game ends with him punching out LeBron before he can win.

Basically what it comes down to is he should have only done "The Decision" special if he planned on staying in Cleveland.

When it comes to the Media's hatred of LeBron, it's because he dared not to go to New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles. Yeah, Miami was an up and coming media darling, but "how dare he not go where we tell him to go?"

I have a coworker who has roots in the Cleveland area. She says that people in Akron don't even resent him one bit for his move - he hasn't forgotten his roots and he does so much for the Akron community that they are extremely grateful to him. Clevelanders are a different story, but do we honestly expect anything different from Cleveland?

Lebron is the better teammate, Jordan is the better hero-baller.

I would generally agree with this. Jordan would put the entire team on his back and win the game. LeBron, instead of forcing the issue, looks for the player with the best chance of success, even if that means giving up the ball.

That being said, I would love to see if Jordan could have done with the 2006-07 Cavaliers that LeBron did. That was virtually LeBron and nobody else, considering Jordan never won anything without Pippen.

Time period doesn't matter IMO if you're giving Jordan the edge due to mental toughness.

Jordan might be the most clutch, mentally tough, and ego-maniacal player of all time. That being said, I don't see how he can defend LJ 1-on-1.
