Purdy has the spotlight at the moment, and rightfully so. Meanwhile our boy Lazard just keeps grinding. He's probably at his ceiling and is never go to be a featured WR1, but he lays out to make big catches and does the little things so well. Perfect example above, blocking three and counting them up after. Tough as they come at his position.

Lazard is going to play 10 years in the NFL, he blocks and is a enough of a threat that teams will desire him if he ever hits the free market.

I want to think that, but I feel like the Packers gave him a chance to become indispensable. He built a reputation there. I'm hoping they value that and compensate him accordingly. I'm very concerned about another team throwing money at him and having expectations for something a little different than what he provides. Bigger salary shrinks that window for him to find the roles he can fill. Like Rodgers or not he was a hell of an advocate for keeping Lazard on the roster. That said he should absolutely bet on himself and take a big contract with some guaranteed money if the Packers let him test the market.

He is such a big part of the GB offense in so many ways. I hope GB appreciates him as much as I think they do and they sign him to a nice extension.

For sure, he would kill it there. Probably another 1/2 dozen teams that would have interest and be a good fit. He’s not gonna break the bank but he will have many teams after him,

Watkins was cut, Cobb won't be back. Lazard is the vet they'll try to retain.

As a Packer fan I'd love to see AR dealt.

Yep he's a perfect WR2/WR3. Just doesn't have the speed/shiftyness that a WR1 in today's league has.

I believe Lazard is playing with a pretty banged up shoulder. I'll never forget the peel back block he had on a Longhorn DT he took out with a shot to the midsection. Who at WR would even remotely entertain hitting a DT there & decleat them? AL - that's who.
Think his injury has limited his measurable stats this year, but he's gutted it out while also missing a game or two. Combine that with other teams gearing their coverages to take him away (in particular after the first 3-4 games this season), he's selflessly been the diversion to open up routes for the other receivers. I think his best years are still ahead of him.

He had a block today that leveled 3 guys then he counted them on the ground.

Yep he's a perfect WR2/WR3. Just doesn't have the speed/shiftyness that a WR1 in today's league has.

He's pretty much the same guy we saw at ISU. A guy who can make incredible catches and inexplicably drop passes. I always felt like if used like Eldleman was at New England, he could be a great #2 receiver. Cobb seems to have that role in GB though.

Great post. Still,would be nice if Rodgers looked his way more often. I don’t always think Rodgers knows everything.
