The NFL can't ignore the TV market. They see LA as a gold mine waiting to be tapped.

Anyway, if the Vikings do move, I hope they'll leave the name here...though I doubt it.

No one want the Vikings to leave MN including the NFL. Won't happen.
Fine, should have just put football. But LA has already had 2 football teams and both of them have not done well there.
And the Chargers actually played a year in L.A. before moving to San Diego. Although that might have been because they couldn't compete well against the Rams.
The Vikings roof collapsing is probably the best-case scenario for keeping the Vikings in MN. It will force the local govt to admit that they need a new stadium and it will probably get done.
I would guess that Jacksonville is the most likely team to move to LA.
Regarding the teams that go to LA to "die", the previous stadium locations were not downtown LA like the current proposal. Traffic in LA is awful, worse than Chicago and similar to NYC, so by putting the stadium downtown it will make it easier for people to attend. Plus the new proposal calls for hotels and bars/restaurants in the area. Again, my guess is that this proposal does indeed work and we see a successful team in LA within 5 years.

This. The prospect of an LA team has way too much potential for the league NOT to try it again. And if it fails, I'm sure they'll keep trying it again and again.
My hope is that Jacksonville is the team that goes, and not Minnesota. The Jags have tons of problems getting people to come to games. They're blacked out all the time. They can't let that continue.
