KU vs KSU Brawl

I have seen easily 2 dozen players receive technical fouls in college basketball this year.

NONE of the opponents of the players who received those technicals seem to have felt the need to rush out onto the court and assault that player. Why is that?
Maybe I am wrong, because I have seen just about as many and not once did I see the perp do a punk a** standover. Why is that?

KSU's players leaving the bench and pushing DeSousa resulted in a brawl.

whatever man, the fact that Naismith invented the game is the actual genesis of this incident.

KU is to blame for all that is bad in basketball and forever shall be referred to as "The Culprit of Chicanery and Shenanigans" henceforth.

Can we now stop talking about blame? It's KU's fault.

Please do not assign fake quotes to me. I say enough dumb things on here that you should have ample, real quotes to use.

Thanks!

After seeing it a several times on ESPN now, this is being portrayed as way worse than it actually was because of DeSousa picking up the stool. Without that, people aren't freaking out as much.
By the way, you can make one of the pics with DeSousa and the chair into a some kind of modern day Caravaggio. Just add some dramatic downward lighting and it would be good to go. There are people reaching out with their hands, people falling down etc. You could call it The Martyrdom of St. Love

Admins...please change the title of this thread to the bolded above.

There's no defense for the actions of either squad so quit defending KU. I've traveled the whole country and Kansas definitely has the most DB's per capita than any other state
There's a difference between discussing the incident and what happened and defending the people involved in the incident.

" 'It's entire impossible to derive intent from this photo. There is a distinct possibility that De Sousa, while attempting to protect the other innocent bystanders, noticed that this chair had become dislodged and could have created a tripping hazard to other onlookers, so he lifted it in the air in and effort to make sure no one tripped and fell. A real hero when you really think about it."

Fixed it for you.

You keep attempting to make it seem like DeSousa was all by himself and the KSU players came out of nowhere to shove him. DeSousa is clearly standing over the player taunting, while there are 2 more KU players essentially right on top as well. While the other 2 players weren't taunting, it's easy to see why the KSU players were quick to move in to defend their teammate.

Yeah, better go save their guy before the two skinny white walk ons get in there.... That's quite a stretch. Sounds more like you found this picture and cooked up this lame "hot take" to go with it.

No the steal and block are part of the game.......after that..........?
It could do one of two ways.

A technical foul and one free throw.

Or this mess.

Just depends on whether KSU makes the decision to ignore their coach, break the rule that exists in every level of basketball and that results in suspensions at every level of basketball and leave the bench to start an altercation.

They made their choice and here we are.

1. You can poke the ball away and take a fast break layup if you want to when the game is all decided and they are just dribbling out the clock but it is bush league - see the Lamb windmill.

2. You shouldn't be surprised when you get a hard block and foul when you do so.

3. If you make that block and walk away you have sent your message.

That is the extent of not great but not crossing the line. If you stand over a player you have just knocked to the floor at your feet you are not likely to get a huge reaction from the bench. If you take 3 big steps to get to the player you just knocked to the floor and put your size 18s right next to his hip you are definitely getting a reaction from the other team and other team's bench. If you are going to physically harm their teammate it is too late to come to his defense after you do something stupid. Someone shoving you away from that teammate flat on his back is not a legitimate excuse to start throwing punches or pick up a stool to use like a weapon.

We have not seen what discipline is forthcoming but 1 game bench suspensions are the norm for coming off the bench and more for anyone who threw a punch. De Souza got himself in a world of hurt. Isn't it enough to knock the guy who is trying to get the asshat steal and layup to the ground? Apparently not.

Send the message, walk away and take the win.

Well actually, the first choice is to block it, walk away and celebrate with your teammates on drubbing KSU. He made his choice.....and here we are.

Do you really, for one second, think that if the sides of the floor were switched that KU's bench would have strictly adhered to the no leaving the bench policy?

Found this picture? As in I watched the video and could actually see what was happening without a pathetically jaded eye.

Look at any other sport, when 1 player is in a vulnerable position and the opposing team has multiple people confronting him, there is quickly an escalated situation.

Here's a "hot take" - living on some other team's fan site, telling them how to think, and whining when they call out your idiocy
