KO Inks 1 Year Deal w Chiefs

Good for him. Hope he can still play for years in the league if he wants to. Crazy how short NFL careers last. Couple years ago he was considered on of the top LTs in the game. Glad he got that huge contract from the raiders but wonder how much cash he actually got out of the deal.

Looks like he has earned about 40.5 million so far, not counting the 2 million deal from the Chiefs.

He's going to be fun to watch in that offense. If he's healthy and has a good year and then re-signs for another few years, he still has a chance at the HOF.

I can’t believe he hasn’t settled with the Jets. It’s crazy that they completely stiffed him on that deal.

We sat by his family during his commencement in 2011 (I think?). They were so excited and proud of him. Seemed like a great family. Happy to hear he's continuing to make noise in the NFL.

Some of the best, most known o lineman in NFL history (Faneca, Mawae) aren’t even in the HOF. K.O. Isn’t even sniffing the HOF no matter how his career ends.

Not saying it is likely. BUT, let's say he is a key OL for the Chiefs and they win 3 out of the next 4 Superbowls. And KO has 3-4 more Pro Bowls before he retires. That's HOF material. All I'm saying is that OLs get noticed on good teams...especially championship teams. He has an opportunity with the team he's on, even if it is way more likely that he's on the downside of his career and will only be a solid starter for a year or two.

KO very solid OL and is in a great spot now in KC. But he'd need several more All-Pro nods to be considered for the HoF.

I don't disagree. I just think that he has that opportunity now with the team he's on IF he can stay healthy. That opportunity would not be there with the Jets or Raiders no matter how well he played his last few years. The Chiefs have the makings of the next dynasty...and dynasty teams are the ones that get OLs into the HOF. Much more likely that the ceiling is a solid starter for a year or two, but he has a chance if he can stay healthy and get back to his Baltimore and early Raider form.

Agree. Lots of eyes are on you when you're protecting the best QB in the NFL, if he gets it done he'll be in a good position for high praise.

Was leaning away from the Bears (years of frustration) fandom, and had been excited about the Chiefs with Mahomes, definitely was pulling for them in the Superbowl. Now the lean will turn into a rush. Go Keleche, still remember the job our Oline did in the 2011 OSU game winning TD drive, especially on the winning TD , Woody was untouched until he crossed the goal line behind Keleche, as I remember it :eek::p
