KO Gone Again

Glad to see it is not our KO.

It's all about the money and ESPN is not bringing it in.

Also interesting tidbits about BIG football and more college bball games with announcers in a studio somewhere vs. being at the actual game.

So I guess their "live sports + a bunch of stupid crap" programming formula isn't working as well as they thought it would. It's interesting that the Big 10 is up for negotiations in a year or two, and ESPN might not be a player.

Might as well simulcast the radio broadcasts from the teams playing. Put the home team's radio crew on the primay audio channel and the visiting team's crew on the secondary audio channel.

for the record the NFL asked ESPN to tell Olbermann to tone down laying into Roger Godell and Olbermann refused. The NFL is a joke.

What's wrong with asking?

He is a journalist. The NFL wanted to censor him. He stood up for himself and said no, which is what he should do. The NFL used their power and influence to make a media outfit fire an outspoken employee. You don't see a problem with this?

Nothing wrong in asking. I'm glad he didn't accept, but I have no issue with asking.

His contract wasn't renewed because he refused to stop telling the truth on how awful and terrible the NFL and its leader Roger Goodell is. There is a problem with that.

Glad this thread wasn't about Kelechi Osemele, I was worried he was injured again.

Meh, it's more ESPNs problem than The NFLs if they can't stand up for themselves.

The assertion that the NFL watered down the MNF schedule for ESPN as a result of Olbermann ripping on Goodell is interesting. It would be a bad PR move, but it's not entirely unreasonable to think that it could go down like that. Just depends on the egos and power struggle.
