I'll be the first to say the kid is at fault, but there is some merit to the suit. Obviously the soda bit is circumstantial at best, but there clearly was a risk of shock associated with that cord. The way it happened makes it hard to feel bad for the kid who is dumb enough to clamp leads to his nubs, but something similar could have happened in a much more innocent manner.

The kid is an idiot - but the teacher is screwed in court if that statement is true.
