A hawkeye friend of mine says his sources close to the program report that Kenny Iwebema's "personal issues" were academically related, and that a classmate may have assisted him in completing some work. Has anyone heard anything else regarding this?

At HR TOm Kakart (site admin) said that the personal issues were not academic in nature. And that not doing your own "homework" is a violation of university policy and grounds for expulsion ...that includes all university students. I believe that it is the same policy at ISU. If that rumor were true he would have been kicked out of school by the university. If cheating did happen then both students would likely get kicked out of school. This is a cyclone site though but the thread is about an iowa player so I responded.

Go Hawks
Go Clones

All of that stuff is just rumors, and I'm sure they'll find a way to get him on the field.

After trading Bowl tix for cell phones and cell phone related accessories, an internal investigation found they did nothing wrong. How convenient.:wink0st: Maybe things will change with Bowlsby gone, but it seems like NCAA would trust whatever Iowa did.

A Hawk friend of mine told me that the academic issue was Iwebema had someone else do a paper for him and they got caught. I told him that being a Hawk player, you have to rape someone twice before you can get kicked out of anything so he shouldn't worry too much. I'm sure Kirky boy will slap his wrists twice with a wet noodle and make him carry the gatorade cooler out to the practice field at least 3 times in the next two yrs and that should be sufficient punishment for anyone playing on that divine team.

Ferentz might also make him "earn" a starting spot and start him at practice as 5th string D-end. We've had our own problems with "allowing" the unworthy to rejoin the team after essentially no team punishment.

If this was a matter of cheating, there's no way the football team/coach could step in to make this go away. Ray Perkins was a highly touted RB/return man for the Hawks the year every RB on their roster blew their knee. I believe he was dismissed immediately when it was found he cheated. I believe cheating is the one thing that gets you the hook immediately, regardless of school.
