Kendall Wright: Baylor had no playbook

They didn't have a playbook but it says they still had plays

You can't win like they did just playing with 11 guys running around playground style. They had to have some sort of design to the offense with set directions...whether they were all in a book together, that's another question.

yeah, kind of a misleading headline. Sounds like they ran plays, but they just weren't in book form.

I bet RG3 just drew them on his hand while in the huddle. Word is he emphasized getting the ball out before 5-Mississippi.

I think people are out of their minds for not jumping off this bandwagon. Why do people think they win 6+ games season? They return a god awful defense, Lose every good playmaker on offense, one being the top player in the nation. I honestly don't see them winning a conference game next season except for maybe KU.

Considering the offensive talent surrounding him in Washington, that might be 2 Mississippis too many.

Defense will still be bad, but the offense has plenty of playmakers including WR's that had 900, 800, and 500 receiving yards. Our running back was a 5 star out of high school who is just now eligible. Florence won't come close to RGIII but in his only action last year he put up 35 in a half against Tech. O-Line looks to be great yet again. We aren't going to win 10, but I don't think 6 is out of question.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of uptempo, spread coaches are trying to move away from having physical playbooks. In Mike Leach's Reddit AMA last week, he talked about trying to do away with the playbook as much as possible. He wanted his offense to see everything on film, because he thought it helped players remember the plays and their assignments better. It sounds like Briles is doing something similar at Baylor.

RGIII in the huddle: Wright, I want you to juke your guy the best you can, and head straight down the field. I am going to throw it to the tarp of shame, and you be there to catch it. On 3.

I agree. I'm not sure they will be as bad as KU or Tech, but it will be close.

LOL!! Tech made ISU look like NC contenders, too. Not much to be proud of there.

I agree, 6 is not out of the question for Baylor. However, I don't see Baylor winning any more than that. As someone else said, ISU hung 41 on Tech last year with a offence that ranked 90th in the nation for scoring. ISU actually had a wider margin of victory against Tech than Baylor did.

I said that 6 isn't out of the question, but neither is 4 wins. Baylor's problem this year is that they have no defense and the offense took a big hit. ISU scored more against Baylor in regulation than anyone else last year except Texas Tech.

If you figure that Baylor's personal losses on offense will result in even 10 points per game decrease. That is still very respectable average. At that rate, Baylor would have only won 5 games last year. Hell, if Baylor had scored 4 points lower Baylor would have only won 6 games in the regular season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Baylor miss out on another Bowl this season. I'm not saying that Briles isn't going to keep Baylor on the right track, but this is obviously a rebuilding year.
