Can anyone explain why the NFL is ok with Kareem Hunt playing in week 9 after an 8-game suspension, when they suspended Ray Rice indefinitely?

The NFL never handles these situations the same or correctly. I do think what he did is way less severe that what Rice did, however.

Kareem Hunt can still play. Ray Rice was washed and easier to make an example of. If he had been in his prime he would have found his way back to the league.

Maybe giving these guys 2nd and 3rd chances isn't worth it.......

Ruh-roh. I guess the silver lining for the Chiefs is that it came to light BEFORE they handed him a massive contract extension. I'm guessing that deal is going to go on the shelf for a while now as this plays out.

People seem to be forgetting all the games he missed last year. Really this is a 13 game plus suspension. Is that really a lenient suspension? He absolutely shouldn’t have done what he did but it isn’t worthy of a lifetime ban.

Objectively the two cases are not the same, I think to say they should be treated the same is not correct. Rice beat his girlfriend unconscious and drug her body out of the elevator if you remember. He'll basically end up missing almost an entire season.

As another poster mentioned, I don't condone his actions at all but his video was pretty tame compared to Rice and IMO, Mixon's. If the rumors about Tyreek breaking his 3 year old son's arm are true then I'm all in favor of banning his ass from the NFL forever

The fiancé, Crystal Espinal, is heard on the recording asking Hill at one point, 'Why did he say daddy did it? Why did he say daddy did it?''
Later in the recording, Espinal said, "He kept saying 'Daddy punches me,' which you do when he starts crying. What do you do? You make him open up his arms and you punch him in the chest. Then if he gets in trouble, you get the belt out.'' Hill is heard denying he broke his son's arm in the recording.

Throw the book at this piece of ****.

Yeah, as I recall everyone was freaking out about him kicking her, and it was the weakest excuse of a kick I have ever seen.

How do they get this audio of a private conversation? Some dude hanging around with a long distance microphone? Odd? Not saying he’s not guilty, but odd.

Hill's fiance secretly recorded it and sent it to a friend, and then the friend or someone else sent it to the local KC news affiliate -

The recording is believed to have been made in early March when the parents were walking through Dubai’s international airport. KCTV5 was told the recording was an “insurance policy” for Crystal Espinal.

Espinal sent it to at least one friend for safekeeping because she didn’t feel she could keep a recording on her phone. It has since been shared and sent to us by someone who is concerned about the welfare of the couple’s child.

At first I couldn't figure out why Espinal would release that recording because 1) it doesn't make her look like any kind of saint either, and 2) why **** Hill over now after she just lied to authorities to keep him out of trouble and keep the paychecks coming?

But if the recording got to a friend and then shared with someone else who was worried for the kid's well-being, then it makes a little more sense.
