Kane's Ankle

This was Kane yesterday. They amputated his left foot, he is now training with a prosthetic. Still game-time decision.

I hope he doesn't shoot anybody.

Too soon?

This is awesome! I heard gang green set in and they had to do an emergency amputation late last night.

On a positive note. With this prosthetic limb, it increased his vertical leap by 20 inches! That should serve well for us..

Really? He's not a spot up shooter. His strength is driving the ball into the paint like a bull.

I think most likely he sits. They don't want to risk him being out longer by playing him because there are a lot of Big 12 games left.

I think he will play, but only about half the minutes he usually does.

This. We need our general on the floor, but he won't be nearly as effective penetrating nor on defense.

I had a severe sprain in high school -- the straightline running isn't the issue, its the laterally movement that will be the true test.

Do we want a guard who is hobling around? Even if it is Kane, I would rather have Morris, Naz and SDW at 100% than Kane at 50% for defensive purposes alone. No doubt Kane's importance to this team is unmeasurable. But the risk of further damaging his ankle and the probability KU will isolate kane and try to not only exploit him defensively by forcing others to help but he will probably not be very effective offensively. I am sure the team will do what is best for the team and maybe Kane gets limited minutes just to see what he can do, but I hope he take a cautious approach and doesn't aggrivate it further when we have to play UT. I think this team has to win at least one of the two.

I have no doubt that Fred will take this into account. If he plays, I'm guessing that they think he is well enough taped up to be effective for a least some minutes, without risk for further injury.

Fran is and always has been ISU's biggest support at ESPN..

By the way what happened to the photo of the elbow trying to pass as an ankle? Please tell me the mods are not that big of sticks in the mud to delete something as funny as that.
