Are they worthy of rival status.I think they are.The games weve had within the Rhoads and Hoiberg years just goes to show that they think its a rivalry.Im down with that as long as we send tissues for snyder after we beat them.Others opinions welcome.

As soon as Snieder retires, they willl be as bad as Kansas.Their basketball program is on the decline also. Love the rivalry thought, but it looks like we will dominate this match up.

Oh dear lord. Please tell me you forgot the jimlad. Im a die hard isu fan but CMON MAAAN. We're iowa state. We're not in the position to be talking about 'dominating' a 'rival'. Football will maybe be 50/50 .. and basketball 60-40 . Bruce Webber isn't a bad coach and im sure when snyder leaves they won't be stupid again

No.

They are not worth the effort to build a rivalry with and will never let anything special develope. They walked away from the Arrowhead game. They make people tailgate in sheep dung. Their ag school is a joke. Their whole University is a joke as far as that goes.

Give me an annual game in Arrowhead with KU and the battles on the hardwood with KU anyday of the week over trying to develop something with the cookie loving purple kitty kats.

Thank you for the cheers and jeers and maybe even a challenge. Now hear this. Iowa State has no rivals in the Big 12. No one hates Iowa State. No one takes particular joy in defeating Iowa State. Iowa State is the cute little brother that no one enjoys kicking. Other Big 12 schools only kick ISU to save being red faced if they do not.

The only true rival the Clones have is the Hawks. Historically, the Hawks are not down for long.

Hey, I know the feeling. Have you ever seen another team wildly celebrating because they have kicked Purple Kansas?

This. I'd love to start an arrowhead series with KU even though KU sucks. Email JP now!

So I get what you are saying OP, but we are exactly 3-13 in W-L against Kstate since the origin of the Big 12. I know the past 3 have been close but not exactly rivalry material, imo.

And please, please, please no more Arrowhead games in conference. Keep it home and away. We probably would have gotten a W in one of those 2 games at arrowhead if it were in Ames. We beat the purple kitty's last time they were in Ames, so let's give that a try.

As long as it includes football and basketball games.

Home and away every year with KU Basketball would be what feeds the rivalry.

An annual game in Arrowhead would be good for both programs.

Give the players a chance to play in an NFL stadium.

It is a good trip for the fans. Had a great time when we went (other than the final score). At the very least, the fans could use it as a warm up for the Big 12 basketball tournament.

I can see KC wanting to increase the Big 12 presence in the city. It would take a few years to get the attendance up. But they should be a willing partner to get it going and help it grow.

Only downside is losing a home game every other year. Pretty much a win for everyone.

I would be surprised if JP isn't already working on setting it up.
