If i recall less then a couple weeks ago most of this board was hoping to be lucky enough to SPLIT Oklahoma and walk away with 1 win. Well we got that win. And now that we lost and got that 1-1 split everyone is preaching the end of the world with hell an high water.
Did I sum that up about right?

Come on guys. We are still a better team then we have been for a long time. yeah it sucks but let's not get our hopes up unrealistically high just because we got in a hot streak. This team is still doing great and going places. We got the 1-1 split everyone asked for. Be happy, go forth, make love, etc etc...

You're right that fans should maintain a levelheaded view.

But a gradual buildup of expectations will have that kind of effect, too. That's probably a good thing in small doses during potential transition from mediocrity (and even disinterest) to exciting possibilities.

When this game ended in a loss, my immediate emotion was Iowa State had just squandered its final chance at a tournament bid. My brain knew better, of course — it took a couple of minutes to remind myself of that.

.

Kansas or Baylor gets a loss tonight , so still in position, for a couple big wins

Good post. This is what Iowa State fans like to do-- temper expectations and then complain when they reach those tempered expectations.

This is a good ISU road team. They almost came back into that game last night after and 8 - 0 where ISU did not even shoot the ball. Most ISU teams would get down. Some breaks did not go the Clones way last night and is going to happen.

Just need to strap it back up for the big crowd on the home court Saturday and get the W's rolling again.

Only disapointment last night was the offense really looked out of sync at times similar to earlier in the year. Three days of practice should have that worked out though.

I wanted to gain some points in the Tim Floyd Standings...it was probably our last chance to do so this year :(

I knew we wouldn't run the table the rest of the way so my disappointment wasn't very high.

Easily the best road ISU team in 12 years (and then for the 20 odd years before that). They've been in every one with a chance to win, which is impressive.

Absolutely +1. I recall reading the EXACT statements from majority of this fan base, split the OU/OSU trip and we would be happy. Now that it's done and there is so much tourney talk we are getting caught up in our expectations. I'm just ecstatic to be excited for Feb. games. I mean '05 was the last time we even sniffed a chance at the dance. This is only the beginning of a great thing...

I think everyone around here is REALLY happy where we are at... just very nervous knowing what losses to bad teams like Texas AM, Tech, or OU at home could do to our NCAA hopes.

No damn excuse for Allen not hitting Fred for the 3 ball on that last play!

Suit or not...he would have drained it and walked out like Elvis.

Royce tried to get him the ball earlier in the game, but Fred stepped on the out of bounds line.

Everyone? hmm....
I think some people are overreacting, and some arent.
Similarly, some people are idiot drivers, some arent.
Some people overreact to the weather forecast. Some don't.

Welcome to Earth. Have you tried the ice cream yet?

I expected to lose last night. The problem is, we played poorly and still could have won. That stings.

While I don't doubt that's what the result would have been, I think that might have been illegal. Fred used up his eligibility years ago.

Yeah, I thought we played poorly in both the OU and both OSU games. For playing so poorly going 1-1 is ok. Just need to get back on track. OSU might just be that team that matches up better with us and gives us fits.

Win three more at least and then beat Baylor at home before winning a B12 tournament game. That would be the ticket.
